The skirt has a perfect cut, fit, and length. However, it came with a factory defect: the right pocket is visibly wider than the left one. When I went to the store to exchange it, the sales associate was very skeptical and made me try it on to prove the issue, arguing that the brand doesn't make tho...se mistakes. In the end, I managed to get a return despite it being a final sale, but I suggest checking items very carefully before leaving the store.
I've been looking at this online and debating about what size to order with all of the previous review comments. I am 5'8" and 125 lbs. I have a slender straight build with my torso/leg proportion if about 40/60. I am a solid size 4(27) in pants. This skirt does run true to size…if your body type is... slender and straight. The skirt does sit higher on the waist and there is no stretch to the fabric. If you are very curvy or carry weight in your abdominal area this skirt probably won't have a flattering fit or be comfortable. I actually didn't end up getting the skirt because I found the length, which ended in my mid-shin area to be unflattering and dowdy. I might consider ordering it in a 4 petit, but I'll have to double check the difference in length first. If this ended a little past the knee it might give it more a of a relaxed cute 70's denim skirt vibe…but otherwise it's a pass for me.

I ordered a size 6, but it fit two sizes too small, and I couldn't return or exchange it. I always buy size 6, so I'm surprised Banana Republic is inconsistent with their sizing.

I found this skirt in the sale rack and gave it a try despite it being two sizes larger than I normally buy. The fit was perfect and this skirt has become my go-to in place of jeans.

there must be a quality control issue with this skirt because its got to be a size 6 labled as 10. DO NOT BUY this skirt unless you're a solid 6/8. otherwise, very well made and cute skirt.

A perfect take on the classic…but in a softer, almost velvety denim.

I normally wear a size 8 to 10 in bottoms. I am curvy. Sizing has been off this season. I had to order either a size larger or size smaller in most of my clothing from BR this season. I read the reviews on this dress and I ordered a 16, probably could've used a 14. However I took it to a seamstress and she didn't need to take it in much, maybe 1/2 inch.

Yep, the sizing is off the charts wrong. However, having tried one on in store unsuccessfully (couldn't get it zipped up), I took a chance and order 2 sizes up at final sale and crossed my fingers. The gamble paid off. I love the skirt; the length, the denim quality, and overall style. For reference, I generally wear and 8 or 10 in bottoms, 5'8". I went with a size 14 for the win.

So for reference I am 5'4" and normally I am an 8 in BR bottoms and 10 if runs small so I thought I would be safe with 10P. I often think people are being over dramatic when the review can be soooo off from what other people say BUT I'm here to tell you in you are my size range and have some curve at all- this will NOT work for you unless 3 sizes bigger. Sizing is SO OFF. It's great quality and style but to have to okay the size game when it's final sale just sucks- now stuck with a skirt that I will never wear and will have to give away or donate.
