I purchased the olive green version in a petite small. The olive color is on the darker side and the brown is a nice warm chocolate brown. It does not lean purple. Beautiful! This coat It is slightly oversized for my body type. I am 5'1, 130 lbs, and 61 yrs old. Most of my weight is in the midsectio...n now. Its roomy enough to layer over sweaters without feeling to tight. You can dress it up or wear it casually. I feel very put together either way. It's warm enough but wouldn't wear out in very cold weather for an extended period of time. My only gripe is that the petite size isn't available in all of the colors like the regular size. I can't understand why they don't offer it in black petite. I would buy it in a heartbeat!
I really want to love this coat. I am 5'2" 125 lbs. The petite small seemed huge. Now the petite XS seems a bit tight around my hips. The petite does not seemed sized for petite. The bottom of coat hangs at least halfway down my shins. And the bottom button fits exactly around the tightest part of m...y hips. The photos show sleeves folded up, but this makes the sleeves much too short. Kind of seems like the petite coat only has shorter sleeves, but the body of the coat was not adjusted to fit a shorter person. Want to like it because I love the stripes, but really doesn't fit great. I saw another review that mentioned mild itchiness with the wool, and I have to agree.

gap.comThis is a great buy for me. It's the perfect weight, perfect colour and perfect fit, at a great price. The fabric is soft, and there's ample room for a heavier sweater. And the big pockets in the front are perfect too. I bought it for my trip to Europe in March and I know it will be perfect for the weather there in early spring.

Focusing on the negative reviews I almost didn't order, but at the sale price I took a chance and am extremely pleased. This coat isn't meant for subzero temperatures, but it has a very nice weight, thickness and sweep. It will keep me plenty warm on chilly days. I'm 5'6" and it hits at mid-calf, which I love. I certainly didn't need another coat, but this is a beautiful addition.

Love the coat! Perfect weight for where I live. I can add heavier sweaters etc underneath to be warmer if needed. Drapes nicely without being flimsy. My problem with this order…arrived covered in animal and human hair and badly wrinkled. Was not wrapped in any covering, just shoved in mailer. As was the shirt I also ordered pretty shoddy packing and QC for Banaba Republic…..if I'd paid full price or close to it and it was not a final sale, I would be returning…..do better BN. You are known for a quality product and shopping experience …#sweepstakes
