Not very soft. Feels like a tablecloth.
I purchased the "white fine linen" pillowcases to go with the organic cotton gauze quilt I purchased from Banana. The color is definitely "cream" or "vanilla" and clashes with the quilt. I love the quilt and find it superior quality, so was surprised at the low quality of the pillow cases and failure to market the color correctly. They are also quite small and would only fit a tiny pillow. The image shown must have been a standard pillow with a king size case. I also am not pleased with the fabric. It's scratchy and feels more like a flour sack than a pillow case. I've washed them five times and they still aren't soft and are crazy wrinkled. I don't have time to starch and iron pillowcases, nor do I want to sleep on a scratchy surface! These are going in the donation bin and defeats the sale price on the quilt.

So my wife bought us some linen sheets and it came with the queen size pillow cases which didn't fit my pillow, so she kind of stole it out from underneath me. So instead of having marital problems she ordered me two king-size cases... I have to say I love them. I sleep so sound and have the best dreams. Whatever you do, don't get rid of them.
