I usually wear a medium, but ordered a large this time for a baggy fit while I'm trying to lose weight. I'm something of a cashmere fanatic. Having purchased the good, the bad and the overpriced in cashmere, I'm quite pleased with this sweater. I ordered the blue-and-white stripes, and think it's a ...great value. It's not the thin stuff one expects at this price (I purchased on sale). In fact, I had to take it off late last night as it got too warm...something I didn't expect at this price point. Anyway, I'm already thinking of grabbing it in other colors, which is something I love about Banana Republic—they rarely offer something in a single color.
The sweater shape is poorly designed. It doesn't hang straight but bulges out very very wide in the middle then nips back in where it's banded. The bright blue color was also not bright blue. The cashmere quality is good. I can see now in the photo of the blue sweater how they disguise the bulgin...g out by draping another sweater over the model. Sizing down won't help the shape issue.

Love the fit of this sweater. It is slightly oversized and maybe a little boxy, with a small enough neck opening so it doesn't look sloppy. It's lightweight and soft as well.

I am on the fence as to whether I will keep it or not...First impression when I tried it on was that it was not flattering - fit is very boxy. However the colour is absolutely beautiful (green). Quality wise, it's thin but I think it would be good for Spring. I will try it on again with a long tank underneath and see if I can dress it up a little bit b/c I am in love with the colour, otherwise it's going back.
