GENERAL PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP

Q: What are the membership tiers?

A: Membership tiers are based on your annual spend or Cardmember status.

There are 3 tiers:

Core = Free to join.

Premier = >$350 annual spend at our Family of Brands – Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, Gap Factory and Banana Republic Factory.

All-Access = All Cardmembers are automatically enrolled at this tier.

Q: I joined the Encore Program at another brand; can I still use my benefits at Banana Republic?

A: Yes, your membership tier and benefits travel with you to any of our brands no matter where you enrolled.

Q: How do I become an Encore Member?

A: You can sign up online or in stores. In stores, just ask an associate for help. To join online, click here

Membership is free, optional, and open to any U.S. resident (including Puerto Rico) who is 16 or older. No purchase is required to join. You can sign up at any Gap Inc. store or online at our brand websites, including Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, Gap Factory and Banana Republic Factory.

Q: If I was an Banana Republic Rewards Member, am I an Encore Member?

A: Yes! You are now an Encore Member automatically—no action is needed. You can start earning and redeeming points right away.

Q: Why did my tier status change?

A: We simplified our tier system to help you move up faster and enjoy perks sooner. All cardmembers now automatically have access to our top-tier benefits with All-Access status.

Q: Why did the points earning rate change?

A: We're expanding the ways you can earn and redeem points. You'll continue to enjoy the same great redemption value, but now with a new earn rate for more flexibility. Plus, you can choose between shopping exclusive items and experiences in our new Encore Market and continuing to redeem your points for savings at our brands. All-Access Cardmembers will continue to earn 5% back on purchases, and Core and Premier Members will continue to earn 1% back on purchases.

Q: What happened to the points I earned before the new Encore Program?

A: All unused points you earned before the new Encore Program were automatically adjusted to align with the new earn rate. Your points balance was increased accordingly and is already updated in your account, ready to use.

ENCORE MARKET (FORMERLY THE REWARDS MARKETPLACE)

Q: What is the Encore Market? How does it work?

A: You now have more flexibility with your points. You can redeem your points on exclusive products, offers, and experiences from our brands and partners in the Encore Market.

Q: How long will it take for my Encore Market item to arrive?

A: If you redeemed points in the Encore Market for a physical product, the shipping date will be reflected in your account.

Q: I redeemed my points for something in the Encore Market, but I've changed my mind. Can I get my points back?

A: Because items in the Encore Market are limited, all redemptions are final. Redeemed items in the Encore Market cannot be returned or exchanged, and points cannot be refunded once they have been redeemed.

Q: How do I know that I redeemed my points in the Encore Market correctly?

A: You will receive a confirmation email, and you can track point redemptions in your Account.

Q: What is the Birthday Bonus?

Q: How does the Birthday Bonus work?

A: To receive your Birthday Bonus, make sure your birthday is added to your account at least seven business days before the first day of your birthday month.

  • Core Members: Log in to your account and go to the Personal Information section to enter your birth month and day.
  • Premier and All-Access Members: Enter your birth month and day the same way. You can also add family members to receive their Birthday Bonuses by clicking “ADD FAMILY MEMBER” at the bottom of the Personal Information section. Enter their first name, birth month and day, select the preferred brand for their bonus, and click Save.

EARLY ACCESS

Q: What is Early Access and how do I get it?

A: Early Access is an All-Access Cardmember exclusive benefit. This includes early access to shop limited collections and drops before anyone else. Look out for notifications on how to shop early!

CREATE YOUR OWN SALE DAY

Q: What is ‘Create Your Own Sale Day’ and how do I use it?

A: Premier and All-Access Members can create their own sale day once per year. This discount can be used at each of our brands on your preferred sale day, both in-store and online. Navigate to your “Encore Offers” tab within your Account and click on “View Code” to access the offer. Tap the code to copy, then paste in checkout online or show the code to an associate to use in store.

ALTERATIONS

Q: How do I get free basic alterations at Banana Republic as an All-Access Cardmember?

A: All-Access Cardmembers receive free basic alterations on eligible merchandise purchased at Banana Republic stores or on bananarepublic.com. This benefit includes basic hemming only for pants, skirts, and dresses.

To get alterations, bring the item, your receipt showing a recent purchase, and proof of your All-Access Cardmember status to a Banana Republic store. Not all stores offer alterations, so we recommend calling your local store in advance to confirm availability and the specific services offered.

Free alterations are not available on leather or suede items. Once an item has been altered, it cannot be returned or exchanged.

EXTENDED RETURNS

Q: How do I use my extended returns benefit?

A: All members are able to return merchandise for free for up to 30 days after purchasing for a full refund. If you are a Premier Member or All-Access Cardmember, you have the option of returning merchandise later for a merchandise credit. Premier members have up to 45 days from purchase; a merchandise credit will be issued after 30 days. All-Access Cardmembers have up to 60 days from purchase; a merchandise credit will be issued after 30 days.

The extended return benefit applies to purchases made on or after February 24, 2026.

Items purchased in the Encore Market are not returnable. See our Return FAQ for more information.

POINTS & REWARDS

Q: How many points do I need to earn a reward?

A: 500 points = $1 reward.

Q: What happens to the points I earned before the new Encore Program?

A: Any unused points you earned before the new Encore Program have been converted to the new points rate and are ready for you to use.

Q: How do I earn points?

A: You earn points when you shop in stores or online with your membership. In stores, just share the phone number linked to your account at checkout. Online, make sure you’re logged in using the email associated with your membership when you place your order.

Points aren’t earned on any portion of a purchase paid for with points, gift cards, store credit, certificates, vouchers, or refunds. You also won’t earn points on shipping, taxes or fees, discounted amounts, coupon savings, purchases made through third-party platforms (such as Instagram, eBay, or Shopify), or when rewards or points are applied to your purchase.

Occasionally, we may offer bonus point opportunities. Any additional requirements, exclusions, or limits will be shared in the promotional details.

Q: How many points do I earn for each dollar spent?

A:

Core and Premier Members earn...

  • 5 points per $1 spent at our family of brands.

All-Access Cardmembers earn:

  • 25 points per $1 spent with your Encore Credit Card at any of our brands.
  • 15 points per $1 spent at all other eligible retail apparel brands* using your Encore Mastercard
  • 5 points per $1 spent everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.

Mastercard World and World Elite Cardmembers earn:

  • 10 points per $1 spent everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.

* Eligible retail apparel brand purchases are identified by the “clothing store” merchant category codes as defined by Mastercard, which excludes purchases at wholesale clubs, Amazon, Target®, and Walmart®.

Q: What can I redeem my points on?

A: You can redeem your points on merchandise purchased from our Family of Brands or redeem for rewards in the Encore Market, which offers a variety of rewards selected by Gap Inc.

Points can’t be used for purchases from the Gap Inc. Clearance Center, for gift cards, or to cover taxes, government fees, shipping and handling, delivery, packaging, or gift wrap charges. Points also can’t be used to make payments on an Encore Credit Card account.

Rewards redeemed through the Encore Market are subject to the terms of each individual reward.

Q: How long does it take for points to post to my account?

A: Base points typically appear as pending within 1–2 business days after purchase, depending on the merchant’s processing time. Bonus points are posted 1–2 billing cycles after the end of a promotional period, or 1–2 weeks after a bonus campaign ends. Once posted, points may take up to 14 days to become active.

Q: Do my points expire?

A: Your points won’t expire as long as you earn or use points in a 12-month period. You can earn points by making a purchase in our family of brands, using your Encore Credit Card outside of our brands, or using your points in the Encore Market. Points will expire if you don’t earn or use points within 12 months.

Q: How do I access and redeem my points?

A: In-store: Use your phone number or email address to redeem your points for rewards you can apply to purchases at any of our brands.

Online: Redeem points in two ways—apply them toward purchases at our brands or redeem them for exclusive products, offers, donations, and experiences in the Encore Market.

Q: Who do I contact if I need help?

A: For questions about your account, points, or rewards, please contact Customer Service here.

Q: How do I know how many points I have?

A: Log in to your Banana Republic account online or in app then navigate to the “Encore Membership” tab to view and track your available points.

Q: How do I donate my points?

A: You can donate your points to one of our partnering charitable organizations.

To do so, navigate to the Encore Market, found in your account, and find the charity of your choice, then select the number of points you’d like to donate and click submit.

Q: What happens if I return an item I purchased with points or earned points on?

A: If you return merchandise purchased with points, the dollar value of the points used will be converted back into points and credited to your account. Purchases made in the Encore Market cannot be returned or refunded.

If you return an item that earned points, those points will be removed from your account once the return is processed. If this results in a negative points balance, you won’t be able to redeem rewards until your balance is positive again.

CARDMEMBER-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Q: What is the new Encore Credit Card? What does this mean for my Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card?

A: The Encore Credit Card is the top tier of the Encore Membership Program and gives cardmembers All-Access to our best benefits and perks.

If you already have a Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card nothing changes. You automatically receive All-Access Cardmember benefits as part of the Encore Program. In the future, if you are a Mastercard cardmember, you’ll also receive a new physical Encore Credit Card—so keep an eye out for it.

Q: Am I able to use my Encore Credit Card across all Gap Inc. brands?

A: Yes, you can use your Encore Credit Card at Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, Gap Factory, and Banana Republic Factory.

Q: If I have multiple Encore Credit Cards, will my points be combined?

A: Yes, the Encore Program combines points from any of your Encore Credit Card accounts as long as your email address and phone number are the same for all accounts. If you notice any discrepancies, please call 1-888-277-8953 for help linking your accounts.

Q: If I have an Encore Membership Program account and an Encore Credit Card account, will my points be combined?

A: Yes, your points will be combined in the same points bank as long as your email address and phone number are the same for both accounts. If you notice any discrepancies, please Contact Us for help linking your accounts.

Q: I have authorized users on my credit card account. Will I earn points when they use their credit card?

A: Yes, purchases made by authorized users will continue to earn points and will be deposited into your rewards account.

Q: Do I keep my Luxe for Life status in the Encore Program?

A: Yes, you keep your lifetime Luxe for Life status in the Encore Program.

Q: How do I activate my credit card?

A: Encore Credit Cards are issued by Barclays Bank. You can activate your card with Barclays Bank online at bananarepublic.com/activate or by calling 866-503-9448.

Q: Where can I manage and get information about my account?

A: Encore Credit Cards are serviced by Barclays Bank. To find information about your account, you can create an online Barclays account at bananarepublic.barclaysus.com.

Q: What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

A: Cardmembers may report lost or stolen Encore Credit Cards 24 hours a day, seven days a week by logging into their online account at bananarepublic.barclaysus.com. Please review your account for any purchases you did not make and report them to the customer service department by calling 866-951-5248.

Q: Can I purchase a gift card with my Encore Credit Card?

A: Yes. You can purchase gift cards in store or online using your Encore Credit Card.

You’ll earn points when you purchase gift cards:

  • Core and Premier members earn 5 points per $1 on physical gift cards purchased in store or online.
  • Cardmembers earn 25 points per $1 on physical gift cards purchased in store or online, and 5 points per $1 on e-gift cards. Points are not earned when a gift card is redeemed.

Q: How do I pay my credit card bill?

A: You can make a payment by mail, over the phone by calling 866-951-5248 or online at bananarepublic.barclaysus.com. Unfortunately, stores cannot accept Encore Credit Card payments or provide envelopes for mailing payment.

Q: Can I pay my credit card bill in-store?

A: Unfortunately, stores cannot accept Encore Credit Card payments or provide return address envelopes. There are various ways you can make a payment: by mail, over the phone, or online at bananarepublic.barclaysus.com. When paying by phone, it's free to pay through the automated system; however, there may be a fee to pay with a live agent.

Q: Can I use points to make payments on my credit card account?

A: Points cannot be used to make payments toward your account. Points can only be used toward purchases of merchandise in-store or online at Old Navy, Old Navy Outlet, Gap, Gap Factory, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory, Athleta in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) or in the Encore Market.

Q: Do I still earn points when I shop outside the family of brands?

A: Yes, Encore Mastercard cardmembers continue to earn points when they use their card outside our family of brands. Encore Mastercard cardmembers earn 3x on eligible retail apparel purchases outside our brands and 1x everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.

Q: How do I earn 3x points on retail purchases made outside of Banana Republic?

A: MasterCard cardmembers can now earn 3x points at all other eligible retail apparel brands* when using their Encore Mastercard. That’s 15 points per $1 on purchases.

* Eligible retail apparel brand purchases are identified by “clothing store” merchant category codes. Purchases at wholesale clubs, Amazon, Target® and Walmart® do not fall into this classification and are excluded from the 3x earn.
