For more like a skirt. Narrow through the hips then flares out like an a-line skirt. Not what I expected for fit.

I wish I could give 2.5 stars. The quality is good, but these shorts are heavy. In the summer I want light clothes (Central California is hot). But they sure wouldn't need ironing, as they practically stand on their own. The sizing is large (as other reviewers said). I usually wear a 4 in BR and Athleta, and I'm glad I could order a 2. They fit, but I'm petite and had to order regular since petite wasn't available. Between the very high waist and the very wide legs, these shorts dwarfed my muscular frame. My husband and I agreed — the longer shorts (petite, not high waisted, narrower legs) look better on me. However, in those I wear my typical 4 more comfortably. (I'm 5'1" and 116 lbs).

Really cute shorts, but it is high waisted. There is no zipper, instead you have to secure the buttons. The stitching for the buttons, did give me some trouble initially (hard to use the top button due to stitching) but with a wash and prolonged wear, it becomes easier to navigate.

Love these. I ordered the denim color. I have been looking for a longer short this season but have had a hard time finding something that is a flattering shape and length. I am 5'6", pear shaped and have a long torso. I went down from my usual size so these fit high at my natural waist.

I would have sized down, but the sizing in the hips fit perfectly. The waistband has more of a gap in the waistband at the back than I would like when I first put them on. I could deal with that by wearing a belt. They stretched out a lot more than I anticipated, and what didn't need a belt on day one turned into a must-need a belt wear the next day. I anticipate that I'll take them to a tailor to refine the fit after they are broken in . I would have sized down, but the sizing in the hips fit well. The waistband has more of a gap than I would like.

I liked the colour and style of these shorts but I was really hoping the material wouldn't be so thick and heavy. I washed them as suggested by a reviewer but it didn't make much of a difference. Im going to contact customer service to hopefully return them.
