I was was fully expecting this to be a return. I had no expectation that it would work on me. Dresses, in general, don't like me and it's always difficult to find something that glosses over the bits I don't like and doesn't make me feel lumpy and dumpy. I sized up and, although it's a bit loose in ...places, it's PERFECT. I feel great in it, which is a real shock. I love this dress. I'm stunned. I've never loved a dress on me before. The low neckline is loose enough I can just put a pin or a snap in it and it covers perfectly. I'm going to put a false hem on it to give me another inch of knee coverage, but that's all. And it's cotton, which is wonderful. BR, please make these in more colours! I'll buy them all.
Normally a size 4, petite and I purchased a size small couldn't even close the buttons. Neck line is ridiculously deep, making it impossible to wear in public. I would agree with other views on how small this runs but not a republic sizes are all over the place… at times small is super large. Other... times small is ridiculously small. BR needs to work in standardizing sizes.

This dress puts a fresh, modern spin on a timeless wardrobe essential. I absolutely love the asymmetric side button placket that instantly draws attention to the cinched waist, transforming a traditional look into a contemporary fashion statement. The strategic ruching across the midsection is the standout feature that masterfully creates a Fit & Flare silhouette that hugs the bust and waist comfortably before opening up into a playful, flirty flare skirt. Only little thing I am not crazy about is the above the knee length.

I am hourglass with a little more "glass" in the hips. These are usually either too small on the bottom, or too small on the top...this is made to fit true to size. The cotton fabric is a very retro feel of shirt dresses from an era of well made clothes.

I am 4'11 - 124 lbs (looking go lose 6 lbs more) 36D. I was in love with this dress the first time I saw it online. I ordered my usual size SP. The issue with the V neck to be so low has an easy fix for me, I just need to put together the two strings inside the dress and make a little alteration by inserting a little hook. I am sure by the time I lose the other 6lbs the dress will look even better than right now. Love it !

TallLarge fits perfectly. I wear a size 8 pants and large top. yes there's a little cleavage, but in my opinion, not too much and I don't wear low-cut shirts

gap.comThe neckline was beyond inappropriately low. I am not large and there was no way I could wear this professionally/family event/dinner out/getting the mail without a shirt underneath. I had such high hopes. Would submit a photo but I think it could would be deemed NSFW.

gap.comI got a large and wouldn't come close to closing. I am usually a large, or medium if things are oversized. Seems like it would be cute though, just crazy small.

Bought the xl tall (runs a bit small) but at 5,9 even the tall was inappropriately short. The neckline was also very low.
