I grew up on a horse ranch, and we used to wear overshirts all the time. Granted, they were made from heavyweight denim, but they were the perfect hybrid between a jacket and a shirt. This overshirt is a refined version of the ones I used to wear; softer, with more structure, a perfect modern interpretation. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

gap.comThe fabric feels great, and the overall cut is excellent, true to size, clean, and not oversized. The inside is also nicely finished with tape to prevent the seams from curling. My only concern is the direction of the velvet nap. My previous BR velvet pieces had the nap running upward, but this one runs downward, which makes the surface look a bit shinier and gives it a pajama feeling appearance under certain lighting.
