The skirt is lovely and good quality, a piece to keep, and easily transitions from fall to winter. It can also go day to night with little effort. The embroidery is eye-catching. To explain the fabric: by definition, this is fine wale (or pinwale) corduroy. Corduroy isn't limited to wide wale and c...an be a blend of fabrics, but cotton is usually a primary component. The ribs are so close together and fine in the skirt that the texture is difficult to discern. Think of it as a very subtle grosgrain, or a delicate faille. It retains quite a bit of the durability and strength that corduroy is known for, but in a more refined manner.
This skirt is really pretty but it is most definitely NOT corduroy, thus the three stars. It is more a cotton poplin fabric, which is fine but will probably only be good for fall weather vs. wearing into the winter. I am disappointed with the misinformation but it is a very pretty skirt so will like...ly keep it. It looks cute with the matching blouse or a plain black top.

This is the second time I have been disappointed in Banana Republic for mis representing their products. LET's be clear This skirt is NOT CORDUROY. It is a light cotton. And if you live in a cold climate, this will NOT meet your expectations. Please rewrite the description so others are not misled
