I'm a medium or size 10-12 in various brands. Weirdly, this is my first dress from BP. The quality is great. The design with the back pocket - Love! Typically, i would fit a medium in Gap. I would suggest to follow the size guide on this one. I will be returning to exchanging it for a Large. ...For reference, bust is 39" with a 41" low hip. The waist stretches so there is ample room. I would say the length on this is roughly 35" [basing this on a size M which i ordered] ...I'm 5'2" and this hits a couple of inches above knee. I live in Los Angeles so this would be a great transition dress, too...not too heavy but not light enough for our heat.
The pattern of this dress is really cute and great for fall, but the cut is not. I'm 5'7" and the dress was incredibly short, much shorter than pictured on the model. I had to double check and make sure I didn't order a petite. Additionally, the skirt didn't fall as it looks to in the photo and w...as cute not to drape at all.

It's the perfect transitional dress. Not too heavy, but enough coverage that I'm not cold in cooler weather. I got a ton of compliments when I wore it this past weekend. I'm 5'1" and gained a little weight-so I'm around 130lbs -the weight gain makes me sort of self-conscious… the petite medium fits perfectly, and I feel that it's really flattering.
