- We're recreating a vintage piece from the BR archives, maintaining the clip hardware from the original and reaching for a rugged cotton twill for fabric. We finished it with a garment wash for lived-in color and softness and lined the body in soft, cotton flannel for warmth.

My first barn coat and I love it. I typical not very attracted to oversize or lack of definition pieces. I tend to lean toward slightly fitted as I'm petite and most relax fit would overwhelm me. Perhaps the sizing is very inconsistent for various sizes, as some others said it's 2 sizes too large.... I found XXS Petite for my 5'1 95lbs fit perfectly with a bit of room for layering. It is relaxed fit but not oversized. The lining makes it more unique and makes me want to buy another color. The only thing I'm not to sure I like it's the 3 clasps. They're hard to close. It's a great piece transition piece for spring and fall. The green is pretty and yet fairly neutral. This a good investment piece to own that would get a lot of wear.
I originally purchased this in an XXS as my other coats from BR run very big, but I found this one was too snug in the hip area so I returned it for an XS and the fit is much better. The colors on both the green and yellow version are not nearly as vibrant in person so make sure you're aware of that... before purchasing. I got this jacket on a really good sale but I don't think it's worth the original price tag. The fit is a little strange but it has a nice weight to it for sure and feels like it will last a long time.. it's just that the quality is definitely not as impeccable as some of the other outerwear pieces I've purchased from BR in recent years.

I love this coat! I am 5'2 and the xxs petite fits perfect..even with a light sweater the coat is not bulky looking. I love the hand warmer pockets and the metal buckles are just enough to give the coat a unique look. The brown corduroy collar adds color. Even the plaid interior makes the coat a standout.

Such a LOVELY barn coat. Very nautical in style and much thicker than I expects. It is lined which will make it a great jacket for cooler weather. Buckles are my favorite design element! Sizing was consistent.

I own this jacket in yellow and LOVE it. So as soon as the denim was available, I ordered it. I sized down to a small in the yellow from my usual Medium and it fit perfect. I ordered a small in the denim and it's a little small, so reordering my usual Medium size. The small fit but did not have that oversized look and feel. (I am an apple shaped girl.) Also, the denim is not as dark and crisp looking as the website shows, it does have a bit of a wash look to it. I would have preferred the darker looking wash, but I still like the jacket as it is one of the nicest denim barn jackets I have seen.

The color is completly different then the nice yellow color on the website, it is ugly mustard. I would have not buy this if I knew the real color. I will return this.

I was christmas shopping with a girlfriend, saw this jacket and convinced my friend that she absolutely had to buy this jacket for herself. Lo and behold, on Christmas morning, my youngest daughter, had it wrapped under the tree for me! It is the perfect jacket for everyday…both of us love it!!!

I got this in an xs since br tends to run big on the coats. I normally wear small but xs was perfect!!! I love it so much. I got the green and it is my new everyday coat. I cannot leave the house without getting compliments on the coat. I love it so much i need a second one!!!
