I already feel like BR shirts are a cheat code for me--at 6'5", it's exhausting to have to always get shirts that are simply bigger (I.e. wider, more tent-like) to get extra length...so I have found Banana Republic tall sizes life-saving, generally. The most inexpensive BR shirt will generally look ...more tailored and elegant than a much more expensive shirt elsewhere, where I compromise on length. That's especially the case here with the laid back elegance of linen, contrasted a little with a slim fit, at the perfect length--comfortable enough for the beach or a Saturday afternoon, but dressy enough for a nice out, without needing anything else. I liked the sleek black so much that I came back and got a yellow for something a bit more overtly seasonal. There is a simplicity to how these shirts are made, that I really appreciate.
Didn't try on before washing so not sure if it shrunk is just a poor fit, but the medium is short on me at 5'11 and tight in the arms but somehow the 6'2" model is wearing a medium with plenty of length?? The brown color also looks nothing like the photo, it's more of dark and drab green/brown with... almost a black heathering to. It is soft for linen is the one good thing I can say. Decided to splurge and try some BR for the first time and am thoroughly disappointed.

The fit is perfect- thankfully BR makes items in XL Tall. Material and construction are superior, feel is genuinely nostalgic for an older version of a linen shirt a had long ago. Top marks.

Honestly very comfortable and high quality. Same price with a linen shirt by competitor but fabric is a lot thicker and less plastic like. Lost 2 star due to a mistake on the fabric, some threads poking out behind the collar and I'm afraid the more I wear/wash it's gonna turn into a hole. Can't exchange or return because out of stock.

I got an XL, which is what I always get, but this shirt is really big in the belly and chest area, certainly not the nice slim fit I was expecting. Seems like a well made shirt otherwise.
