The waist runs true to size on the upper end. I bought the M which runs 34, but doesn't expand past the upper end. Phenomenal pants!

I like the color, style & fabric - but I might return it because the waist is small. It's a drawstring waist -but oddly, the waist doesn't expand. So it's a chore to pull them on. This is the second style of BR pants that I've had this challenge with - I kept the previous ones, but this time it's more pronounced.
