I started buying these for my husband but ended up wearing them myself. I am a 5'5" 125 woman, and I prefer these sweaters to any of the women's versions. They are drapey and easy in all the right places, and the wool is soft and just warm enough. I usually buy a small to have a sweatshirt like fit,... but the XS would work great if I wanted them to skim closer to the body. I do recommend dry cleaning as I find they keep their shape and finish better than when I hand wash. The cherry jam looks great with my favorite black velvet pants and heels.
These sweaters are infuriating. Some will shrink a full size on you, some will not. Impossible to tell what will happen! Of the three I purchased, one stayed true to size and the other two did not. In store, a small is the perfect fit on me. After a cold water delicate wash, the sweater shrinks a fu...ll size or up to a size and a half and is completely unwearable. Given their price and that this is not a refundable problem, this is infuriating!

Really like this merino sweater - however, after just one wash, and following the instructions (hand wash, lay flat to dry, etc.) exactly, the sweater shrunk significantly, especially along the bottom band. While I like many of the new styles from BR, I've found that the quality is not as good with other pieces I've bought over the past few months quickly getting holes, etc. I'm not going to be able to wear these sweaters anymore given how they held up after one wasy.

gap.comIn a short amount of time the stitching around the arms came loose. This was just normal wear. Had to return two of them. Was expecting better at this price and it's banana Republic.
