I had a brown version of this from a few years prior when it had one of those names like Dawson or something. That one fits well. Roomy but not overly so, long enough in length and sleeves. Decent linen fabric. This one seems pretty much the same. Not sure what the other reviews saying it's short or... small are about. I'm about 6'1 and 180 lbs. Regular medium fits fine. The mariner blue I bought is a nice blue. Perfect elevated summer color. Bought to wear with a (now defunct) heritage line linen blazer and the recent relaxed Italian cotton chino. Chef's kiss. Quite happy.
I really liked Banana Republics Standard Fit Linen shirts, and bought about 20 in various colors, short and long sleeves in 2023 and 2024. Recently I received my first 2025 linen shirt and noticed, that the linen is good quality but the construction and measurements have changed. Changing from singl...e-stitching to double-stitching changes the look from linen dress shirt to casual shirt, it is commonly used in denim and work shirts. After just one wash, the fabric between the double seems already 'puckers' and the color is getting uneven, it looks 'cheaper' in my opinion (see photo). The shoulder width is 1 inch narrower compared to the 2024 shirts, the collar opening is 1 inch wider. The yoke (the shoulder part) is almost doubled in width now, from 2 1/4 inches to 4 inches, which looks more casual and makes the expansion box pleat mostly decorative, which is noticeable when you lift your arms in the front or to the top. I don't like the new fit and appearance - but it is a matter of personal taste of course..

As soon as I pulled this shirt out of its package I knew this would be used often and well. It has a very premium feel, especially for linen, and it doesn't overly shine like some linen shirts do. Fits perfectly, true to size, and well constructed. Recommend! #sweepstakes
