This black satin skirt will be the most versatile addition to your wardrobe. You can dress it up or wear it with a denim shirt and tennies. It is long enough to wear for a formal dress but also looks great with booties and a sweater.
Sizing is true. The skirt needs streamed upon arrival but is comf...ortable and decently made. The waistband does tend to roll a bit but might improve with wear. Definitely recommend

Great lines but poor quality
I could almost overlook the high price for a skirt of this material because the lines are so good, but the quality is poor. It's not lined (what is these days) and the waist is just a strip of elastic sewn in that is folded over twice and tacked on the sides - so you can unroll the waist band to ju...st the elastic. I don't see it holding up long at all, and that's beore cleaning it.
The waist line. The elastic are is so cheaply made. It's beyond disappointing. HM skirts are made better for a fraction of this price. Absolutely not don't waste your money. RETURNED the same day it arrived.

Comments about Stretch-Satin Maxi Skirt
I'm a lover of skirts and own many maxi BR skirts. I've still got one paisley navy skirt and an ivory with navy stripe in rotation from the 2015 collection. Something was amiss with this one. I normally would have already purchased all the season colors available but I only got the Sahara yellow one when it was marked down but ended up having to return it. The bias cut was done wrong making it fitted in the hips, not long enough to be a maxi but more like a midi, yet not structured enough to be a midaxi midi nor an A line. The satin quality was just alright due to deep wrinkle lines in my opinion. This could have worked with the distressed satin used to make the 2025 holiday asymmetrical dresses, pants and tops which I disliked. All in all BR silk skirts still dominate. Hoping that you bring back the silk skirts in 2026 please. And keep them true maxi style with length options… Classic/Regular, Tall and petite. I had to size up to a 12 to fit the hips which made it fall lower which I liked but because the waistline was shoddily made it just kept rolling out. Normally I would use a needle and thread to tack it but this time I chose to not bother. Still a fan. Keep them coming. #SWEEPSTAKES

Sometimes long skirts can be too full and unflattering, but this one had the perfect drape. Also love that the satin isn't too shiny. Usually between a small and medium, but took a small in this skirt. #sweepstakes

The skirt drapes beautifully. Like others have said, the waistband is annoying, but I still love the skirt.

Heavy material so moves with you but does not cling to you. Fabulous color and skirt can go downtown with tshirt and jean jacket and boots or uptown with cashmere sweater and mink jacket!

Comments about Stretch-Satin Maxi Skirt
I bought this in red and black, thinking it would replace similar styles I bought from BR one year ago, which my daughter absconded with. My disappointment in the Fall '25 skirts stems partially from my comparison to the Fall '24 version — as well as shortcomings specific to this piece.
Compared to Fall '24, this skirt is not silk (nor is it listed as such, so an error in assumption on my part). Instead, it is a very heavy, satin that requires HEAVY steaming upon arrival. And even though the wrinkles will steam out, the fabric is not a fine satin, it is a cheap, heavy alternative, reminiscent of something you'd buy on a discount rack to use in sewing up costumes for a middle school musical.
For '24 and '25, BR opted not to finish the waistband, so the fold over elastic flips during the first wearing, and over time, you will not be able to return it to its original shape.
Now let's talk about the Fall '25 shade of red. It is an orangey-red not a berry red. In fact, it is soooo orange, that I recently paired it with a chocolate brown sweater and tan suede boots and everyone loved the "fall ensemble". The Fall '25 red version absolutely cannot be worn with a bright red, berry red, true red, or red with any blue undertone top. Period. In fact, comparing this skirt to other reds (including the aforementioned Fall '25 red silk midi purloined by elder daughter) has become a new holiday past time, as has asking people (including a clerk at Crate & Barrel in Atlanta), "what color do you think this skirt is?" Obviously, I kept it, but only because I could use a burnt orange skirt, not because it replaces the red one (which I subsequently found on Poshmark, so now I will have a rainbow of long, shiny BR skirts — yeah me!)
So, buy if it's for you, or don't buy if it's not. But whatever you do, buy it on sale because this is not a premium fabric.
