The leather is extremely soft. It is close-fitting. I normally wear a small in BR blouses, either a small or a medium in BR sweaters (chest determines). I got this in a medium and it's not at all too big. In fact, when zipped it's pretty snug in the chest. Not sure I could wear a sweater under it...
Bought this jacket in black and love it. However, seems maybe the leather isn't sealed and the black color has bled onto lighter colored clothes. I can't even tell you what the white leather chair from a work conference looked like after I spent all day sitting in it with this jacket.

gap.comI contemplated buying this jacket for 2 years, as I'm in the market for a leather moto jacket. When it eventually came to a Black Friday sale I bite the bullet, even after being cautiously skeptical after reading other reviews. This jacket is not good. I cannot believe the price for this quality of leather, even after the sale. Yes it's soft, but super thin. The lack of weight means the structure is not ideal. Most disappointing it did not look black, more a dark brown/charcoal in the different lights (perhaps I got sent models that were on display?) I was between a size size small and medium, and both fit terrible. I would have needed a medium in order to functionally close it, however the medium open looked incredibly sloppy. There's no way I could have fit anything other than a blouse under the small. The flaps at the back are not flattering and dated. I returned both, because at the price point I purchased I want quality, design and fit.

Love the soft leather and detail in the zippers and cut.
Poor quality jacket. I never got to wear it as the first time I took it out of my closet, the sleeve got caught on another nearby zipper and ripped! The leather material is paper thin and poorly made. Very disappointing for the price I paid. I'll be making a visit to the BR store locally to see about returning.

gap.comDear BR, PLEASE offer this jacket in PETITE. The regular size fits well in shoulders and chest BUT the sleeves are 1.5" too long and can't be shortened due to zippers. The length of the back and front is 2.5" too long even for 5'3" "tall" petite. The size I tried XS Regular.Otherwise, it's well designed, superbly made of a buttery soft leather jacket. Petites are grownups ;-) and we need FINE grownup wardrobe so don't exclude us.
