- A good excuse to RSVP yes. This silk dress is based on a vintage slip dress style from the 1990s, updated with draped, puffed sleeves and our signature silk crepe de chine, a fabric we love for its luxurious feel and matte look. Plus, did we mention it's also machine washable?

I ordered a size 10 and my measurements are 37/29/41. I have never felt so comfortable and beautiful in anything else. Pictures can't capture how gorgeous this dress looks while worn. Even without spanx it's still very flattering, which is rare with silky fabrics since they often show everything and... I am very sensitive to that. It is fitted in the bust and I don't think it would work if my chest were much larger or more pendulous (I'm 36C/34D, side set, self supporting). The gathering on the dress sits right at the bottom of my bust and isn't loose and lower like on the model but it still looks good. The bodice feels secure and lays flat. If you're choosing between sizes I would go based on your bust because the skirt is very slinky and it's bias cut so whether your hip measurement is a bit larger or smaller it will fit regardless. It is a lightweight fabric with a gorgeous drape and it's fairly opaque- I have a silk, also unlined, dress from Marni and it feels to be the same weight so I don't think this dress feels or looks cheap. I bought this on sale but I think it's worth its' full price especially knowing how difficult it is to sew such lightweight fabrics and cutting/sewing on the bias is extra tricky. The interior is very neat with no loose threads, rolled hems, and some overlocked seams. There's tulle? at the shoulder to give the sleeve volume but it's unnoticeable when wearing. The invisible zipper is smooth to open and sits flat. The colour is true to the pictures. It wasn't super wrinkled when it arrived folded up especially compared to a similarly priced viscose dress I purchased a few months ago. I can't overstate how much I love this and how pretty I feel while wearing it. The care tag says it can be machine washed, which I appreciate but I have yet to do this so I can't attest to how well it handles the wash
I bought this dress and was only able to wear it once. I thought I was buying a timeless piece and was happy to spend a bit more for higher quality materials, but after one wear I decided to hand wash this dress and there are now white splotches where it looks like the dye is patchy. This is absurd.... The tag actually said you could machine wash cold but I was so nervous because the item feels quite delicate so I decided to hand wash to be more careful. I am so tired of brands boasting that they are higher quality and charging the prices to go alone with that yet selling us nothing better than fast fashion. I should be able to wear a dress more than once. Banana Republic do better!

One of the best BR dresses. Silk but not polyester, giving necessary luxurious shine. For my 34A chest, the top part is just perfect. So this is not for bigger chest women. I am 5'4" 125lbs, got a size 4. The flare of the dress is very forgiving: loose but still shaping body. Just perfect flare.

Such a gorgeous green, I really wanted this dress to work. After 2 tries, it just didn't fit me right.

The fit is terrible and the silk feels like plastic. It looks a lot better on the site.

Just received this dress and it fits like it was tailored to me. I'm 5'3" 130lbs with a small chest. The bodice is sort of fluted so it wasn't too fitted around my midsection so it's comfy and flattering. The fabric does look and feel expensive and will be great after a little steam. I'm excited to be able to dress it up and down.

This dress is beautiful. I wore it for a party the night before my cousin's wedding. I will say, if you are chesty, this is not the dress for you. I'm a size 14 and a C up maybe. I only needed Cakes and no bra. I don't think a larger chest would fit well because of how the chest part is on this dress though.

Lovely dress! The silky fabric drapes beautifully on my body. It's true to size and comes in the perfect shade of soft green.

Beautiful dress. The shape was fitted. I am a 12 Tall and length was great but length between the shoulder and breast was too short. The dress "cups' sat too high and looked weird. There was no lining which I thought was a bit cheap for the price of the dress. Other than that I would have kept the dress.
