These have been my favorite winter layering pieces since they came out a few years ago - thin enough for under even fitted sweaters while still adding warmth, sleek neckline, longer sleeves, and soft fabric for next-to-skin. I wear them for everything from lounging, to hiking, to dressy events. I al...so love that the stretch of the material prevents a baggy look when sizing up - I have this year's red in xxs and xs, both look sleek and fitted (not too tight) on my 30A/25" frame, while the xs lends a bit extra warmth. All that being said, the thread that's used has always been *very* delicate. Every single one of these I've worn more than a few times (washed in laundry bag w/ecover wool soap) has had the wrist threads unravel. Just yesterday, I re-stitched the wrist of my red shirt which had started to unravel. Luckily I can mend things, but I shouldn't have to! The only other thing I'd say is add more interesting colors! This year's red w/slight orange cast is gorgeous - would love to add goldenrod, deep or bright teal, forest green etc. to my collection!
I am a huge fan of these tops for winter layering and decided to stock up on larger sizes (=more warmth) while they're on sale. This year's cream I received in xs (to also avoid the see-through) is gorgeous and more of a solid, bright cream than previous years. But! It was worn and/or washed by some...one who uses those awful gain-like soaps with the horrid, headache-inducing scents the companies insanely claim, as if a positive, "last 11+ months!". Since xs is now sold out, I tried washing with additives of vinegar, baking soda, and a scent-removing laundry booster, but it still REEKS. I cannot believe some people put this scent on their clothes on purpose, and it's disappointing BR would not consider this damaged. I do love the top, so hopefully the scent goes away in a year - in time for next winter! 🙄

gap.comWanted to love this top. Worn once and washed on gentle cycle in cold water. Took it out to hang to dry and the seams were twisted half way across the front of the top. Completely ruined due to garment fabric being cut "off-grain" during manufacturing. I thought banana republic was better than this cheap fast-fashion construction. Will think twice about shopping here going forward

A beautiful fabric, looks and feels nice, a really shows as depicted as per the online image. Great for wearing on it's own or for layering. Purchased two Turtleneck t-shirts, one in cream, one in blue. The blue is a beautiful shade and looks great with jeans. Cream goes with everything, especially Valentine's day red! I ordered 2 of these turtlenecks in the same order in xs. Both arrived separately, but both arrived smelling exactly the same, like disgustingly fragrant, cheap laundry soap (gain/all), and used. This brown has PIT STAINS, which I didn't see until I turned it inside out to wash and try and get the smell out of. Meaning I tried on a shirt with somebody else's gross pit stains! If I didn't love these tops and there were xs's left, I would absolutely return/exchange. Beware if you buy on sale, BR is totally comfortable sending you disgusting used clothes.

The fabric is soft and thin, but not see through. I love the tomato red color. It is rather fitted so I recommend sizing up. This is great for layering.
