Hand-selected by vintage curator Marcus Allen, founder of The Society Archive, this inaugural release brings together original Banana Republic leather, utility, and safari favorites, true to the brand’s roots in exploration and discovery.

What’s are some of the styles in the first drop?

• Heritage leather: Fringe jackets, pants, skirts, and belts

• Utility staples: cargo vests, four-pocket field jackets, and classic jean jackets

• Classic Tops: timeless shirts, wool sweaters, polos, and flannels

• Bold graphics: Archival logo tees and hats

• Patterned classics: Plaid shirts and Hawaiian prints

Every piece remains authentic to its time, celebrating craftsmanship, material richness, and history.

Where it All Began

Founded by Mel and Patricia Ziegler, a journalist and an illustrator inspired by a vintage utility jacket, the first Banana Republic store opened in Mill Valley, California. What began as a travel outfitter evolved into a storytelling brand known for collectible catalogs filled with essays, illustrations, and travel dispatches. The Archive revisits that legacy with garments that reflect the brand’s earliest adventures.
